so I just went to tesco for a few groceries and saw a parking space in the family section and took it, I was driving my shelby which requires more than a standard space for parking. as I got out I was verbally attacked by a crazed woman pushing a stroller.

to use her words "you are disgusting, you can't park there buy a smaller car and don't be so precious over your car"

I didn't want to give her any notice as she was obviously on a crusade of some kind and wouldn't even consider anyone else's opinion. she then screams "I'm going to report you". I kept walking and when I was leaving I see her at the customer service desk. she followed me back to my car and along the a3 until I turned off at tolworth.

I made a note of her liscence plate just in case anything comes from it, but curious to know if this has ever happened to anyone here?

Very extreme behaviour - the woman is obviously a bit mental!

I would recommend parking your car as far away from the store as possible, so no other cars park next to you. Or shop at Waitrose, you can clearly afford it wink

Do you feel that yours was valid, under the circumstances?

If a nice, polite, suited chap with a Tesco name badge had quietly pointed out the error of your parking, would he have been similarly labelled and ignored?

Waitrose have wider spaces.

HTH.

Should have told her to buy a larger child and not be so precious over it.

How about don't park in the parent and child section if you've not got a child with you? Problem solved then...

She was hysterical. You were a bit of a dick for parking in a parent and child space.

Just buy a £10 booster seat from Halfords and install on the passenger seat, get a packet of hula hoops and empty contents on the floor, replace all your CDs with "Mr Tumble sings the hits" and for added effect park at a slightly jaunty angle.

That way, you'll be entitled to park in the family space and can tell aforemention witch to fk off.

Sometimes i get the same attitude off of people when i park in disabled bays, some people just dont understand the need to look after a car.

if a Tesco employee had asked me to move I would have, however I am sure that other people park in these spaces who don't have kids. I see small cars in those spaces all the time, or people on there own using them.

I am not under the impression that my car is more important than others, only that the standard spaces are quite small and when people park so close to you it's impossible to get in the car.

Although she was a bit mental she had a point.

The thing is as I'm sure the op has experienced, if you do park far away on your own you can guarantee when you come out of the supermarket there will be a car parked next to you due to the sheep mentality

So park at the back of the car park where there is loads of space.

Don't think you should be complaining about this one. I park at the far end of the car park with all the other cars that want to be left alone.

next time I'll park in the back and walk further to avoid the woman that believe the world revolves around them. however I never park in disabled spaces that's a no no.

Maybe other people are thinking the chap in the Mustang taking the designated family space thinks the world revolves around him.

So let me get this right, OP parks in Parent & Child space when there is no child with him, and is surprised when he gets a bking for it (albeit it from a slightly crazy sounding lady)? It's clearly labelled, it's not a Parent & Child Or Person with a large car bay.

I just park at the far end of the car park, it is very rare that someone will park next to you.

Not sure if 4key is being serious, but if you really do that then you are a penis.
