Anybody fitted these? Not going with the Potenzas again, I consider them a bit noisy and figure that tyre technology like most things has moved on. I've narrowed it down to two choices in my mind.

The Plot super sports are top of my list but vredestein Ultrac Sessantas look to be significantly quieter now we've got the new e.u. nonsense to compare models with (67db vs 72db/73db for Potenza/Michelin). Interesting the Pilot SS's are that good that they are quoted at stopping two car lengths quicker in the wet from 50mph vs the other two which are comparable (band A vs C - each band is worth a car length for those who can't do the math).

Anyway, it looks like on paper (or screen in my case today) that the vredesteins should be at least comparable or better than the Potenzas. Anybody able to give me some real world thoughts? before after? I know that the Potenzas last forever so has anybody had them on long enough to compare the wear rate?

TIA

Just fitted Michelin Pilot Super Sports. £1100 for 4 and just claiming £100 cash back. Priciest set of tyres I have bought so far but please with them so far. still not much grip when cold but once warm they feel good.

I have only put Potenza's on my AM9 because it's difficult to get the same type of tyre for the front and back. I've used Vred's on all the other cars I've had and I think they are bril. I've use the Vred Sess's on my BMW and still have them on it now. To be honest I'm not too interested in the noise, but boy do they look good. The V Sess's must be some of the best looking tyres I have ever seen.

Just bought some Winter tyres for the cold months and am using Michelins, £1200 for the set, supposed to be state-of-the-art and better than the Pirelli Sor's.

Having said that, in order to fill out my wheel arches, I have over sized the tyres, using 255/35/19 and 285/35/19. They seem to fill the arches well AND (importantly) they are protecting the kerbing that normally gets the alloys. Indeed the bigger tyres have saved the wheels any number of times. I do a lot of town mileage. Bigger tyres have been on for 6 months now and not a single scrub on any arch.

I told my Insurance Company about the change of tyre size, they noted it on the policy and said nothing. I'm happy with that ....

Filled out the wheels and the arches, handles better (I think so), no insurance problems, a win-win scenario .....

Here’s a thread from quite a while back discussing Vredestein tyres; http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Hope it helps.
