Hello all

I have been taking apart all the interior door handles in the house, as they are squeaking, and have regreased them all etc to make them work smoothly and quietly. No problems thus far.

Ensuite bathroom, however, has a twist lock on it, similar to the images below:

My problem: I can't get the bastid apart! I have taken off the fixing screws from either side but, unlike the other non-lock door handles in the house, they don't then easily slide off, as the lock bolt is still holding it all together.

I can't see an obvious way to separate the lock 'axle' - I have tried unscrewing it, but it won't budge. Any thoughts?

Is there a grub screw on the underside of the lock securing it to the shaft?

Hmmm, hadn't thought of that. Pretty sure I would have noticed it though. Will have a look. Thanks.

If there isn't a grub screw it'll probably be be an interference fit and you have to prise the twist knob off, just slide a small screwdriver behind it and wiggle!
