are the front wings on a V8V made from please?

With nice weather, started giving mine a really good clean and horror upon horror, found a couple of paint blisters on the OSF wing top (the last 1" which is horizontal) right next to where it meets the bonnet.

Only appeared in the last month or thereabouts but as the car is unmarked everywhere else, it's particularly annoying

Any ideas, suggestions, observations or voodoo curses gratefully received

quite a few early cars with it ....my own 2006 car has more panels with these than without

its not covered under corrosion warranty though, as its not corrosion, its a paint prep fault

if you have manufacturers warranty they you might get some joy out of them, otherwise you have pay to have it re-sprayed

Sorry to hear about the blister, my V8VR (very similar to yours) had a blister at the driver door handle when I bought it last Nov.
I find this issue strange since it seems to take years for the blisters to crop up, I would of thought they would appear sooner
after painting at the factory.
Aston Martin should hang their head in shame regarding this factory paint issue and fix this for customers free of charge.
I wonder if this problem is now sorted at the factory, after all they have had 100 years experience of painting cars.

It would be interesting if someone here could start a poll similar to the clutch poll to gauge the problem.
ie does it affect Vantages or other models, cars of a certain age etc

Thanks guys. I found this thread - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=870... - which shows they have reacted properly before, so with the precedent established it's now down to criteria!

I use JCT in Leeds who have been exceptional in the 6 months I've had it (I have had more than my fair share of issues), so pictures already emailed. Mine is a 2008 V8VR btw with 20k miles and full Aston history and otherwise immaculate.

AM should accept a known issue, but having come from 6 years of Mercedes ownership I am accustomed to wriggling techniques. MB for what it's worth had massive problems with rust and also the bizarre SBC braking system which is brake-by-wire with a pump that with certainty will fail as it has a limited life span, but MB are now refusing to fix under warranty.

Accept everything you say about AM and the paint issue, it should be fixed FOC if it occurs. For what it's worth, many manufacturers seem to have design or build issues from time to time. Porsche have suffered from their well known engine issues leading to very expensive repairs, MB and the rust issues, BMW Z4 have issues with the roof motor being in a well that fills up with water and eventually wrecks it, requiring expensive intervention, and I understand their 320d engines suffer from faulty widgets or similar which gets sucked into the engine and causes extensive damage. There's probably a lot more too, including the notorious Ford Barbeque model in the states, the Pinto.

It's not that they go wrong, it's how the company responds that is important.

I now have a few panels looking like this.

Very poor quality control on a car at this level.

Will wait until they get a bit worse and look at a respray.
