After asking opinions a few days ago on DB7 or 9 I have been and purschased a DB7 vantage manual in green with black. Came in under budget and is in very good order, new Bridgestones all round, stacks of history including it's life in Monaco Nice part was the number plate was my initials too so must have been meant to be! Will post a picture this afternoon.

was looking at manual DB7 vantages the other day with a pal who had one first time round, he's now thinking of getting another one: they look a great buy at the 25-30k mark they seem to be available atcongrats, look forward to seeing pics

Just been looking through the stacks of history, discovered that last July less than 1000 miles ago it had the GT brake upgrade carried out and in 2011 it had the centre sports exhaust fitted so she does sound pretty sweet. Thank you for the nice welcome, not sure if I'm the usual DB7 owner at 24 but I do love a classic shape. I'm more interseted in an Escort Cosworth and Lotus Carlton than the modern equivilant to give you an idea of my tastes and living next to this is a 78 Merc SLC 450
thanks again for nice comments The car has welcomed me to with a few warning lights tonight, I have the air bag light doing it's best impression of a strobe light and the check engine light on. With the severe lack of use a few teething troubles are to be expected, just wondered if me putting regular 95 in could have caused the latter? She drove fine on the Mway for 150 miles but after a short stop did feel a little 'jerky' in 3 whilst at about 35/40. Will get the snap on out tomorrow and see what she's complaining about......bless her!

Congratulations, it sounds as if the Aston Martin owners experience is just starting.Congrats!
Thats a lovely looking car and manual is the only way to go with these. With the recent upgrades it sounds like you've got one that has been looked after.
I'm sure your teething issues won't be too much. The airbag light is probably a loose connection, and the check engine light can sometimes come on when the car hasn't been used regularly. Generally speaking you're fine to use regular fuel, but if I were you I'd fill her up with posh petrol and take her for an italian tune up on some nice a roads to blow some of the cobwebs away. I might do just that this weekend anyway
Do you know if the ignition coils have been replaced in its lifetime? If they haven't been done yet they'll probably fail at some point in the near future and the bill won't be pretty. The only other thing I'd be careful of is that the fuel pumps are cooled by the contents of the tank, so its not recommended to let the fuel level go much below a quarter, particularly in warm weather.

I used to get check engine lights being a bit messy with fuelling. If you get any petrol in the surrounding area of the filler, there is a small vent there (it's black plastic and upright from mememory) that is very sensitive to it. If petrol gets into this vent, you'll get a CEL as the car detaects and error stae, but it will clear itself after a few restarts. Until you do it again
Doesn't need to be much fuel, a few drips as you pull the nozzle it from the filler neck can do it.
Howver, you might also have a very slight misfire - what's the coil pack history..? Or a dicky oxygen sensor... Or a fried catalyst... And so on!

Is that Chiltern Green? If so, it's the best colour ever.
Fact.
Amazed Yeti likes the colour - didn't think he liked green - more a grey/suicide black man Fact.
He’ll need to see Doctor about it one day (with a stethoscope).
