It appears that I am classified as the resident petrolhead in our office, meaning that I’m asked all kinds of car related queries Etc

A colleague has told me that there is some stuff up the side of her car that her local (Kosovo) Car Wash can’t get off. Looking at it, it’s a watery concrete residue that has dried hard. It looks like salt stains, feels rough(ish) and doesn’t appear to be too sandy. It is definitely not paint. She’s asked how to deal with it, thinking she may need to get it re-sprayed

It is a black car that is clean in this picture...

My first impression is to tell her to get T-Cut on it, but I don’t want to recommend this if it damages the paint even more. It’s an ‘05 C Class, in reasonable nick. She doesn’t want to tip too much money into it

Any recommendations?

TIA

I'd go for wiping it over with brick acid. If it is cement, it'll disolve and fizz away.

Maybe I'm being stupid, but isn't Brick Acid corrosive?

I had the same prob many years ago... do exactly as the other guy said (should start to dissolve the cement straight away) wipe off then wash the car down as normal with soapy water. Wouldn't recommend leaving the brick acid on for too long.

Yep, but diluted and left for a short amount of time it shouldn't do visible damage.

Yes, dilute it first and work up in strength trying on a small area.

I've heard diesel works also but not personally tried it.

How thick is it? A clay bar might be worth a go if its not really nasty.
