Happened to come across this incredible Dialynx conversion at the Great Western Sprint at Castle Combe Yesterday. Owned by Keith Murray, previous owner of a Audi Quattro that would do 0-60mph in under 2.5 seconds, and created by Dialynx Performance.

The stats are ridiculous: 820kg, up to 600bhp from a 1.4l turbo (reduced capacity 1.8T I believe) at 10,000 RPM.

Sounded and went like an absolute ANIMAL - see here:

I think he may have been beaten by the 205 following on (or another 205 if not that one). Regardless I like the work they do. Just down the road from me.

Quite possibly. Both were rapid and fairly non-standard. I have a video of the 205 I can put up later too.

I happened to be there as well and honestly the video does not do justice to the sight or sound of that Audi, the wet pit exit didn't help matters though.

Oh and regards to that 205 it was stonkingly quick and a definite surprise, sounded a treat too, thanks for sharing

I shall reserve comment until I have checked with the PH hive mind to see if it's ok to like an Audi if it's old/modified/whatever.... wink

(it's awesome *furtively glances over shoulder* )

Here's another video of a Quattro from the same event:

Not sure on the stats for this car - can anyone shed any light?

You've pretty much nailed it there - it competes in the Hillclimb championship too.

Dave Patterson's 106 Rallye and Colin Satchell/Sandy Brown's 205 tend to give him a run for his money. The latter actually managed to beat him at Mallory on the 17th. That's an epic car too.

I was taking part, although in a rather less technical piece of kit. Keith got a special mention at the prize presentation after the event as having the fastest launch time (64ft) of 1.86s. Someone in race control with a calculator and too much time on his hands had worked this out as being in excess of 1.25g acceleration. The same as a Saturn 5 in early launch, according to Wikipedia.

Results are here: http://www.tsl-timing.com/sprint/2013/132581.pdf

Whatever the figures (and it's not my working out) the car is an extremely well engineered piece of kit and Keith obviously has the talent to wring its neck. He finished 7th overall, only beaten by single seater racing cars.

Ooops, my bad, I was talking about the 22nd June BMC sprint, not the March event as per the thread. Same car and driver though...
