chrysler 300c tourer diesel or petrol?
Discussion
My Dad wants a 300c as Mum says so!!
Tried to put them onto subaru forester or legacy even 5 series tourers but Mum wants a 300c estate as they have dogs, anyone have one or had one and what to look out for above and beyond usually service history etc, also petrol or diesel, they only probably do 6to8k a year.looking around £8 to 10k
cheers

Bang on budget for a 5.7 Hemi - http://www.vantagecarsales.co.uk/used-car-chrysler...

cheers guys
Diesel is the cheapest to run, almost double the mpg of the 3.5 or 5.7, and the service intervals are better.
If they're buying the car because they have dogs I'dsuggest they buy something else. It's not an estate car in the true sense. The roofline in the back is very low and the floor is very high.
Unless they have a very small dog it will be extremely cramped.

At current market prices these are great value and not nearly as bad as many will tell you. The CRD engine is straight from Mercedes and gives the best all round performance. The vast majority of those sold were the derv and petrols are not a common find. The 5.7 hemi is a fantastic lump but the accompanying fuel costs are enough to dissuade most buyers.
The Lux pack added sat nav and a sunroof whilst every other item was standard spec. Many CRD's were chipped and if the startech chip was used erratic running was often noticed. This was down to the recommended location for the startech ecu resulting in overheating. Move it to an area with decent airflow and the problem disappears.
Alloys corrode badly on all models but the earlier cut finish was far worse.
If possible try to stretch to a post 2008 model year as the face lift at this time made a huge difference. Better leather, dash plastics, switchgear, new alloys and much more. The sat nav (If fitted) became Mygig and then included bluetooth, HDD, USB, DVD.
