Hi I'm just wondering if someone could shed some light on this for me, I took out my renewal car insurance when I was unemployed (got made redundant just after Christmas). Anyway I've just started a new job and I remembered at the time the insurance company telling me to let them know when im working again, I presume I didn't have cover for commuting, now that I'm working should I be giving them a ring to declare this? and if so am I likely to face any sort of increase in premium or administration fee's? If so I'll be paying them to keep legal ofcourse but I'd like to know in advance ^^.

Apologies if this is the wrong forum to post this in and thanks for your help smile

Yes 100%
and
probably yes

Your insurance in rated against you as a person, your employment gives the insurer a 'picture' of the 'type' of person you are so very much something that should be rated on

From unemployed into employment?

I'd expect a reduction in premium, unemployed carry fairly high risk association for premiums.

That's why I was a bit confused lol, +£30 for adding commuting to and from work basically. maybe it's mostly an admin fee? Either way im happy enough just to get it done and out of the way =p
