Are any of you going to the Grasshopper Inn meet on Saturday? Its located on the Kent/Surrey/Sussex border.

It would be nice to see some S's there.

Hi Simon,
No problem, you're always very welcome at any meet.
Sadly, As Rob says, I'm grounded until I have done some work on the house this weekend (we moved a month ago and some DIY required for next 6 months).
Also, I have a dead water pump on the S and a long in tooth cam belt on my daily smoker which I'm replacing on Saturday all being well!
Hope we bump into each other at one during November.

Cheers,
Kentish

Definitely come along if you can. Only one in 5 visitors is captured and offered up to the TVR gods as a sacrifice, so new people are always very welcome.

I have never been to a meet either, actually

Just reading your profile - is an S potentially within your budget?

Don't want to hi-jack the thread. But yeah, i can go to about 6000-6500 for the car itself, but for each month i'm looking that figure is slowly creaping up in the bank.

For that kind of money what ever i get i think i need to have an extra 500-700 in the bank to see me through the first 6 months of ownership (just maintainance (winter)) plus in the region of 900-1200 for insurance for the 1st year.

It seems i've missed a storm of S3s up for sale lately and some really good example going for not too much money as well.

I still have to sit in one and get the fell for an S yet, so much of this may go to pot as actually i might not fit in it or something stupid like that!

I'd love to come along and meet you guys, i went to the west sussex TVRCC meet recently but no S's there, So it's either this or this supposed winter meet!!!

Looking forward to meeting you all.

Im probably going - so will anyone else from the S fold be coming along or not?

With your budget Simon, you should be able to get a very nice S indeed. If you come to the meet, I'll give you a ride in mine, which has the interior of an S3.

Before I bought my S (just a few months ago) I wondered how satisfied I would be with an older TVR (I always wanted a TVR) and since buying have discovered that the S series is absolutely fantastic in every way, guaranteed to put a grin on your face.

Come and say hi at the meet if you can make it Rob

12:30 meeting at the far side of the car park they said, so we can all park together and do burnouts without upsetting the pub owner, and make the sacrificial offerings out of sight.

The S series stands for sacrifice (if you end up buying a lesser car, that is) I talk more crap than anyone else in the S forum...Canadian sense of humor etc, dont mind me

You'll enjoy the day, come down if you can There will be cobras, lotuses, an ultima, a genetta, most importantly TVR's, and some other nice motors on show.

Bugger and Dammit....I'm not going to be able to make it tomorrow. Work commitments swallow yet another weekend whole!

Hopefully I'll meet up with you all another time.

Apologies

Bob
Good to see you and your GF. The fluid we discussed was Dot4.

As for the other two guys, no sorry I do not remember their names, though I do remember them both saying that they were not PH regulars.

Yep, good meet, good to see you too. Odd that the only other two S's there were driven by non-ph enthusiasts.

Got charged £2.65 for half a pint, either Surry is very expensive(?) or the bargirl (swooning as I strolled up to the bar and ordered) rang it up wrong.

Would have been nice to have seen a few more S's, twas the reason I posted the reminder, but hey ho! I am now looking forward to the "S" Winter meet. So who was swooning you or the barmaid?

Hi guys

Not sure if I got to chat with you on Saturday - there were so many people to talk to!

Please feel free to come & join the other local TVR owners (& enthusiasts) at any of our get togethers.

Many of us will be doing the Surrey Run next Sunday, but our next monthly meet is on the evening of the 25th October at The Rose & Crown, London Road, Dunton Green. (near Sevenoaks)

We usually get 20+ Tivs there (best yet is 42)

Drop me a line via my profile if you want any more details.

Hi Nick

Thanks for that, I have been planning to get along to the R&C for a while now. I heard you introduce yourself to someone on Saturday, but I was deep in conversation with a fellow S owner about various bits and pieces, and when I came to find you, you were nowhere to be seen. I look forward to seeing you soon. (25th pencilled in)
Cheers

Look forward to meeting you - quite a few of us went to eat in The Grasshopper so I might have been in there.

We were discussing the bulk speeding tickets our convoy got on the way home from Cardiff!!

Wot me? But I have a girlfriend Must have been her!

So, the South East meets - are they ever in Sussex, Surrey is a fair way to go. Not impossibly long by any stretch, Im just wondering aloud if one month they are in kent, another surrey, another in Sussex, a regular Sussex meet would be convenient.
