Head Unit Wiring - Golf MK3
Discussion
I have a Golf MK3 with an aftermarket head unit - it doesn't currently save radio presets so I suspected that the usual problem of swapping constant live with ignition live was to blame.
The wiring seems to be ISO with no adaptor blocks or anything being used, not sure if this is the original factory configuration however the blocks are VW parts (like this, I expect http://www.ebay.com/itm/Radio-Plugs-Pigtail-VW-93-...
I can't seem to find an ignition live wire present in the block - there are far fewer wires present than there normally are.
The car has a bit of a dodgy history and seems to have suffered a fair bit from electrical problems in the past so I suspect that the radio wiring has been messed with in the past. I'd rather fix this myself than pay someone else to do it but does anyone know what's up and how I can fix it?

Ah so the ignition live is actually brown/red, different from other diagrams I've seen whilst searching however there is a brown/red wire present.
! the other diagrams will be a great help too diagnosing any other electrical problems with this heap.
yeah it's not a bad site.... (Join up if you have a mk3 as I do moderate in a relaxed style unlike some vw forums)! the other diagrams will be a great help too diagnosing any other electrical problems with this heap.
