Inspired by the thread 'RD350 - rose tinted specs' over on Biker Banter I wondered, should you ever go back to a previous bike/car or one you wanted when you first started driving/riding?

I too had a RD350 in the early 90's, my first big bike & loved it & occasionally find myself looking at them online. Likewise I day dreamed of Cosworth's when I first started driving and also find myself looking for them......so, should you go back or is it a case of never go back, in a similar vein to the advise of never go back to an ex Mrs?

Cheers

I realise this has possibly been done before, I'm interested in people's views, in particular those who've done it....

....don't look back. You can never look back.

Only today, I saw a deadhead sticker on a Cadillac.

Those days are gone....

Before I could drive I wanted an MG Midget. So last year I finally got round to buying one (well, a Sprite).

Turns out they're awesome and I want to keep it forever.

Oh, and I'd have another E36 Compact tomorrow if I had space. Preferably with a 5.4L V12 crammed under the bonnet this time, Racing Dynamics K55-style smile

One of them is correct. You'd have to be a eagle-eyed to spot which one though.

I wanted a Surbru when I was younger, I still do (just when I don't have to lube up for insurance!), BUT I also know that whatever car I get next, will be very hard to beat my last car, 528i. I feel I've peaked too early with it frown.

Had a Mk2 Escort back in the day and thought it would be great to get another (this was before the prices got stupid). Hated it, might be good with thousands spent on it but that back axle on cart springs shuffling about wasn't fun.
