I've seen the reviews and wasn't sure if the new front end worked.. But I've seen quite a few around town now and they look absolutely superb!

I'm not in the market to buy, but just curious - has anyone here bought / driven one?

If my numbers come up, it's one of the first purchases I'd make.

Tally-Ho, Best of British, what what - UK is still leading the way!

I think the new FFRR looks great and is certainly a big step up from the last generation.

This full fat phrase seems accepted in certain circles when referring to models of cars, but is it just me that hates it used in this way?

I'm not a fan of the new RR although it is meant to be very good.

The last few designs always look a bit chavvy, then you notice a Kahn or no name designer one and realise what chavvy really is.

It's a fair point, not sure what the accepted designation is - just Range Rover? Sorry, not to up to date on my L numbers.

To JLR it's just Range Rover, the model number is L405 but you need to be really sad to use that.

Is it just me or were they claiming a 180mph top speed for these at launch?

The one I saw today was a dark Bronze colour, mud splattered up both sides. Good to see the local Lord of the Manor using it as God intended around his farm.

Looked magnificent biggrin

I met one on a country road in my little 70's sportscar. I thought I was about to die, they are easily the most imposing car I have ever seen on the road. They have HGV levels of road presence.

They do. Not that I've seen the new L494 Sport in the metal, but I suspect it won't even come close to the presence of the L405, despite not being much different in physical size.

I am a big LR/RR fan, and I do love the 405, but I am still not 100% sold on the front end.

Side by side next to the new 494 (Sport), I think I prefer the front end and even the interior of the Sport (never, EVER thought I'd say that!)

FFRR still gets my vote though, can't really put my finger on why though. The split tailgate is still excellent, and I still think it looks a little bit more elegant. If I had a choice, I'd take an SDV8 Vogue SE in Green, clear glass, toffee leather, rear locking diff, dark exterior accents and sunroof smile

A good incentive to keep working hard wink

True, but I'm talking never-have-to-work-again-just-wake-up-and-decide-how-to-spend-my-days numbers biggrin

The supercharged V8 is geared to 175mph if the engine can stretch it that far, it hits the 155mph limiter easily.

I like them but they do appear to be the size of a large boat on the road, seem to be selling well from the amount I've seen on the roads.
