Advice on squeaking noise requested.....

Good afternoon.....just last Friday I had a nice new set of Yoko Advan AO48's fitted to my M400 and have since put them through an 80-90 miles scrub out phase. This weekend she was driving just superbly, as good as she has ever done. Pure, unadulerated joy in fact.
However, yesterday morning I noticed a 'squeak squeak' from what I know is the rear of my car, and I suspect (but can't be sure) is the near side read. The 'squeak squeak' increases frequency with speed, only happens initially from rest, and stops probably 700-800m or half a mile into a journey.
I had new hubs and bearings fitted to my rear wheels in September 2011, and a new nsr bearing a year later in September 2012. I also had an issue a year ago with handbrake shoes which was sorted at the same time.
Anyway, I am headed off on a 5000 mile road trip to the Amalfi coast in 18 days and want / need the car to be on top form for obvious reasons, so - could I ask anyone who might have an idea, what the issue could be with this 'squeak squeak'!?

could be a hundred things (well, 20ish). If we exclude the obvious and wander down a random path...
Perhaps it's the tyre moving a little on the rim. I don't mean slipping, just that if it's a tad flat it will bulge slightly at the bottom as the weight goes on that part. This flexes the side wall which sits against the rim.
Once it warms a bit it stops squeaking.
Check tyre pressures, spray some tyre dressing on the sidewall (makes them look new again as well!).

If you want to eliminate the fresh tyres from the equation, if you have anyone local who can come over and swap their (non squeaking) rears onto your car to try, do that. If there is no one local, swap the tyres left to right and see if the squeak follows the suspect tyre. (check pressures first with an accurate gauge though).

You sure it's not something completely unrelated like the ancillary belt? Mine (before it was replaced) used to squeak when cold but would stop squeaking once warmed up.
Should be easy to identify by simply lifting the clam when cold and sticking your
near the offside. If it is this, a squirt of belt dressing spray will sort it.

If it is this, a squirt of belt dressing spray will sort it.i had this on mine,and couldnt find the problem.3 months went by, trying to get to the root of it. thought it was the rear brake shoes etc. turned out it was the brake pads squeeking. cleaned off the silver anti friction paste, that noble had used,and used COOPERSLIP.. Problem solved at last. hope this helps.

My guess as well, especially if the car has just been washed. However,it's normally the pulley rather than the belt, a very fine layer of light rust quickly dries on it if it gets wet from washing or a downpour etc. As soon as that layer wears off ( as in the OP post half a mile into the journey) the noise disappears.Should be easy to identify by simply lifting the clam when cold and sticking your

The noise is definitely not tyre related nor is it belt related. This morning in torrential rain, I left my driveway and for the first 20-30 metres there is nothing, that is no audible (problematic!) noise at all. Then it starts off quietly at first initially sounding like a constant chafing or scrubbing noise, interspersed with a 'squeak, squeak, squeak' that almost certainly is 'rotational' in it's origins i.e. from one or more of the wheels. Trying to decipher which one(s) however is very difficult as I'm sure any Noble driver will appreciate.
So carrying this noise forwards I negotiated two roundabouts and 0.9 miles of city driving relatively straight road, with two pedestrian traffic light stops thrown in for good measure (handbrake applied each time). At this point I was stopped in traffic to filter right for about 2-3 minutes. Handbrake on again. I pulled away and nothing.....nada, no squeaks, groans, chafing - not a thing, and it stayed that way for the next 2.2 miles of my journey to work.
And I guarantee it'll be the same story tonight going home. The car meantime feels just great, that's the irony - it's not pulling to one side, it rolls freely when left standing on even the slightest incline, the brakes (grooved discs and pads all round fitted less than 5k miles ago)are spot on and mechanically she's running beautifully.

when it's squeaks, try just resting foot on the brakes a touch. Pull the handbrake a little.
if the noise goes then it's prob pad related. Not sure how the handbrake mech works as I've not had to take it apart but seems there are seperate shoes?
If this isolates it, then pad backing/anti squeal shims?
Heavy brake a few times maybe to re-face the pads?

I'm thinking that it IS rear brake pad or handbrake shoe related. I'll take up on some or all of the tips you've provided me with and will let you know how I get on, although one things for sure, I've never had any squealing or other noise from the brakes since buying the car with 800 miles on the clock back in June 2005, and she's now done just shy of 23k miles.
I really want to make sure this is all fixed before I head off on what will be a c. 5000 mile round trip over just 14 days in September, because I'm not sure if anything goes wrong en route, that your average French / Swiss / Italian garage will even want to look at fixing a problem for me without first taking a few very sharp intakes of breath between tightly clenched teeth and then seeing big Euro signs flashing up in front of their eyes! And really, it shouldn't be that way, because as we all know, the Noble is inherently a very simple car.

I thought mine was the handbrake and shoes too,removed them 3 times cleaned etc,save urself sum time,and do the pads first.remove wheel,u may just hear the squeak if u rotate the hub to a certain position.sounds like a rotational squeak.annoyed the s

I'm with the rear pad brigade , when the car sits the pads relax against the disc , slight run out on the rear disc causes the pad to speak , nothing to worry about , refit pads as suggested or a couple of big stops from high speed to bed in the pads or de-glaze them , something again that could cause a speak .
