They may get a bashing for being unreliable but this 61 plate one was picked up several times by the sea at around 4pm today, turned around 180 degrees and dropped by a very high tide and huge swell at our local beach today.

The owner got back, it started immediately and he sheepishly drove away. It might die soon afterwards but for now, I'm impressed!

I've had a few Pugs and they've never caused me any problems, so I guess some of them must be alright.

Understood the humourous angle of course, certainly ain't no test of reliability or otherwise.

In the near future that car will suffer failing wheelbearings and probably starter motor if it's low down, and all depending, possibly cat failure.

Not the end of the world.

However, salty water inside the sills etc, I'd not want to be the sucker who buys that car a couple of years down the line!

French car with crap electrics.

I once brought a cat c peugeot and it was nothing but trouble. Found out after that is had been water damaged and repaired. The electrics were never right.

I did drive it like a hooligan though - and wrote it off after 3 weeks when I crashed it lol.

I now have a mini, and it's a great car. German engineering!

However I've also had a renault, a peugoeot and a vauxhall. All of them were junk and I ended up either writing them off or selling them for scrap.

My advice to everyone is to go for a german car. They are very well built. Diesels are very good these days, but I went for a petrol mini as I could not afford the diesel.

You won't go wrong if you follow that advice.

I thought that until my rear wiper motor started unleashing the sound of a thousand bees when I dare to switch it on

He's basically right though. You're still using French made power to get around.
