I understand there was an up rated engine option for the Tuscan I think it was a Red Rose Engine?
My car is a 2001 with engine number 0014P6401495 is it possible to tell which engine this is?

try reading this one: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=117...

it asks the same questions.

it says somewhere that the engine code should start with RR...

this shoudl be the difference between a 4.0 RR and a normal one:
4.0L Mk1: 360 hp (268 kW), 310 lb·ft (420 N·m)
4.0L Mk1 Red Rose: 380 bhp (283 kW; 385 PS), 310 lb·ft (420 N·m)

Cheers,

Tom.

Is it possible to rebuild a standard one as a RR?

I would have thought any 4L rebuild from a reputable dealer will be better than the RR version any - the 4.3 versions would be much better than it

The red rose or S basically runs different cam timing and map. Additionally the Tuscan S also used a wider bore exhaust. Can't remember if its running bigger injectors. Clever tvr marketing. Same engine, different set up. That's all there is to it...
