Buy it.....wait for paperwork. About a week to arrive. Fill in the transfer. Send it off...another 2-3weeks.

Click buy now , you can sort it by end of Feb woohoo If your lucky smile

What happens with the tax disc?

Do they send a replacement with the new reg number on it?

Don't forget to let your insurance company know as well. You will get a replacement certificate with the new reg on

Also a replacement MoT certificate (if applicable) with the new reg number.

Do you have a DVLA office near by? They can do it there and then, and print you off a new tax disk

Not sure what dvla offices are left apart from Swansea....for the majority of us it's not been an option since they all closed last November. Only way now is by snail mail, which is a pain in the a2$e if you have anything not quite run of the mill to do. Phoning at the moment means hanging on and on and on........

I bought a plate from the website a couple of days ago. Hoping to have it on the car well before end of Feb. Seems fairly straight- forward. Though, I'm sure there will be a hold up somewhere along the way though

I'm with axa and can do all the changes myself on line, they don't charge an admin fee if you do it that way

Then check MiD to ensure the Wcensoreds put in right number. My insurers have cocked it up twice!!!

That's a crying shame. They were always efficient, friendly, interested in the plates and would sort you out on the spot in my experience.

Mine took 10 days to receive new log book from time of sending the forms.

Insurance charged me £15 to change the plate though...

Agree. I'd used my local Maidstone office once and also one in North London as I was working that way. On both occasions I would agree with you comment. They were both busy too. frown
