RE: BMW M235i Racing: Time For (more) Tea?
Monday 10th February 2014

OK, so we've offered you vid of the BMW M235i Racing to accompany your afternoon brew once already. And this additional official vid is more of the same - teasing build footage, moody 'hand' putting on racing suit before driving (quite slowly) round a track for the camera, pumping music, etc...
BMW M235i Racing: Time For (more) Tea?
Another vid of BMW's customer racing version of the M235i, another 'want one' pang results

Since the last video we've actually driven the standard road M235i though and attempted to get BMW to confirm rumours it's building an M2.
The base package is good. The racing car looks fabulous. BMW, crack on with building us the missing link - alright? In the meantime we're available for shakedown drives of the racing car if required.

I think the use of dubstep in making videos seem more exciting is getting a bit ridiculous. As much as I love the genre, it has unfortunately become the default choice for many movie makers lacking imagination.
True, isn't dubstep old now anyway?Back on track (no pun intended) it this going to be the GT4 spec car for BMW now?
The widebody look is great, seriously hope they do a proper roadgoing version of this. Not normally a fan of white cars either but the classic BMW racing livery really makes it. I'll have mine in Tanzanite blue with shadow chrome wheels please
ETA - actually since it's fantasy I think I'd like it in E36 Techno Violet instead
With amber corners!

With amber corners! I rated it zero, not because I'm not excited about the car, but the presentation was absolute cack. Get rid of the edgy editing and dubstep - if you are showing a racing car, how about just a video of it cutting laps in HD with nothing but the engine note. Also, that side c-stripe thing looks like the one Mercedes-Benz used on the CLA-crossover racing thing concept (you know, the crossover version of the A45AMG).

Becase the engine note is shocking! I guess they will have the V8 sound generators installed on this anyway.....From the pictures and press stuff so far it doesn't strike me a full on race car more of a fettled road car.
I mean look at the loom and lights scream road car.
Does it come with a sequential dog 'box or a heavy ZF/DSG road car item.
Motorsport programmable ecu?
Repackable exhaust?
Looks nice but seems to be falling short at the moment spec wise to be a real contender in GT motorsport

Another niche filled. Racing BMW, Tick! A nice car I'm sure, but not exciting in any way, just more of the same.
Stripped out track orientated small coupe?I thought this was the PH wet dream.
