rare is everything I know, but are they dynamically better than a good 944 S2 ?

Probably as far lighter but will be much less refined also. Will be eaten alive though by a good 944 turbo.

Great looking motor and I was close to buying one about five years ago. If I had the money to own every car I always wanted, then I'd buy one. However, they are just to slow for my performance car needs. All looks and no go.

Must admit it does look good.

Maybe being OCD but you would have thought they would get the middle of the steering wheel looking a little bit fresher. Looks very faded due to sun exposure.

I know what you're saying Moll and I'm guilty of mentioning homologation and Le Mans when it comes to Mk1 GT3s but a car has to have the whole package, maybe a race link if you're bothered (I like it), noise, feel, speed.

You could have a lovely 964, 993 or for a bit more, a GT3 for that money. Line all 4 up together and the 924 keys would be the last ones I'd be trying to grab.
It's dealers trying to set the values not the Le Mans link imv.

Its all about Historic Motor Racing and eligibility. This car will be able to enter some mega events if it cant already.

So what if you could buy a nice 996/993/964 for the same money.

Just look at prices of MK1/2 RS Escorts and most other RS models.
Its a bargain compared to those.

They are rare and IMO great looking cars.

If I could find somewhere to store it I would buy it as a stable mate to my 997 RS.

Living in central London has its advantages but I do envy those with a driveway sometimes!

Perfect example of who I'll think buy it Birdcage. Someone who is adding it to a collection.
I'd love it too as well as my current car but if I'd scraped £30k-odd together for a dream car it wouldn't be that, but that's just me.

The first car is a give away compared to the second although it has 9 times the miles.

Can someone explain what the difference is between the GTS?
Derek Bell got given one for winning at Lemans around about 1980. Think he still has it.
