I'm trying to fix a rear parcel shelf rattle and to get to it I need to remove the rear seat backs. I've been advised by my local AM garage that it's a relatively straightforward procedure and after removing the velcro'd seat pads and small pads above there's access to two small bolts which after removal allow the rear seat backs to slide upwards and then pull free. Well, I've removed the bolts but the seat backs are very firmly fixed and certainly don't easily slide upwards.
Just wondered whether anyone has actually carried out this procedure and whether I'm missing something that allows the backs to slide up and out?

Thanks
Ice

I've had mine out. There's a "cleat" behind the upper middle seat back that requires an upward motion to free it. If you've got the bottom bolts out it should lift out with enough force. There's nothing delicate behind there.

I didn't have difficulty with my seats as mentioned two bolts and slide. Best to be cautious though and take your time. Anyway the link shows how I fixed my shelf and stopped it rattling.
