Fast sub £5k boy racer car

Whats the fastest tuned sub £5k old 'boy racer' car you can find?

Eg 205 Gti with cosworth conversion, tuned r5 turbo, rs turbo, sapphire cosworth etc?

You'll be hard pushed to beat a MR2 Turbo, £2k rev 3, ecu can cope with boost upped to 18psi fine which will give it approx 300bhp, tin top about 1200kg , good traction hard to beat down a quarter mile if that's the sort of boy racer stuff you are thinking.

Friend recently sold a 400bhp Evo 6 for 5.5k, that was fast!

Probably get a decent power R32 or 33 Skyline for sub-5k, if you're not looking at GTRs.

MR2 turbos are probably the cheapest "real" drivers car out there at the moment, easily within budget (mine cost a whopping £560). I've even seen stripped out Integrales for your kind of money.
