What are my options on where the battery leads from the boot should run via.

For the positive, either from the boot, parcel shelf then along the top of the transmission tunnel to where the current battery positive location is..or alternatively from the boot, under the car directly to the starter motor solenoid.

For the negative, either along the tunnel too..or possibly a shorter cable from the boot directly to the frame..then use the chassis as a negative. With the latter, not too sure where a good direct bolt I can use would be as most of the bolts on the rear are suspension bolts.

Any other ideas from PHers?

Smaller battery in the same location was my preference.
Having both a fuel and an ignition source in such close proximity and protected by a bit of fibreglass which flexes if you lean on it would give me the heeby geebies.

Probably not what you want to hear if you've decided to move the battery. But I put in a smaller battery which gained me about 3inches of measurable floor space and both me and my 6ft 3in mate can sit with our legs out and not touch the battery.

Thanks Ian.

The passenger's footwell is unfortunately reserved for ecu, EDIS and wideband controller.
I have fibreglassed a secure battery tray in the boot..I'm confident it's solid and secure.

There is a good earth point behind the fuel tank. I would be looking to use this to keep at least one cable run short.

I would also be tempted to put the fuse board behind the passenger seat with a boot mounted battery.

As for battery and tank in the boot, it worked for Jaguar in the XKR.

And in the Audi A8.

My vote for the red lead is direct to the starter. The power then uses the lead from the previous battery position to starter backwards to power the rest of the car.

Maybe, but the Jaguar and Audi would have been Min. of Transport approved crash structures, not 3mm of un-reinforced fibreglass!
