Hi,I would appreciate any advice available. The amps control knob is seized and one of the brass terminal bolts has sheared off.I realise that the guts of the machine have to be lifted out-is this a basic task or not?Any comments greatfully received.Regards Baz.

Serviced mine this year, I use it as the transformer element to a rotary phase converter.

Once you undo the bolts on top, you can lift out the lid with all the associated switchgear / windings. Oil drips all over the place so be ready to manage lots of slimy oil, I am going to guess it has never been changed. It's also pretty heavy
Mine was pretty crappy inside, I cleaned it all and then replaced the oil, mucky slimy job. Once out you can replace the broken parts .... if you can find replacements. I did notice spare parts on eBay at the time.
