Just had a new integrated dishwasher fitted.

It turns out it has a pinhole in the drain pipe which hoses water around when it's draining.

Now I know the best solution is probably to take it out and fit another. But that looks a bit tricky.

What I was hoping was to just cut the pipe where it is leaking and then join the two ends using a connector.

I purchased a washing machine waste pipe connector that looked like it would work but it's designed to join the 2 rubber end pieces, not plastic pipe to plastic pipe.

Any simple suggestions or do I need to replace the whole pipe.

Thanks

Actually scratch that. It was easy to remove the whole thing and I'll just fit a new waste pipe to it. Will be a much better fix.

Cheers

I wonder if a dollop of silicone, then wrapping it in some form of waterproof tape tightly would have done the job?

Can't you just get it sorted under warranty??

I've previously rigged up an extension to a dishwasher waste hose by joining two hoses together with a short section of 22mm copper pipe, inside the hoses, secured by jubilee clips around the rubber hose ends externally.

Could this work in your situation?

Hi,

Thanks for all the suggestions. It turned out to only be a 10 minute job to take it and and change the whole waste pipe from the back of the machine.

At least that way I know it won't spring another leak anytime soon.
