So I've decided to try to fix a split in my front bumper. Any words of wisdom? Took it to a shop and they said we'll paint it but won't repair it because they always split again.

Plastics can be welded and strengthened but rarely are as good as before. Sure they will look fine, but won't take a scuff or bump without cracking open again. A used one could probably be obtained from $400 if you search fleabay. Might be a better option.

See if you can find someone who uses this kit.

Its awesome stuff. Maybe you could call The Tool Connection and see who has purchased said kit locally to you?
