Wobby Bolts, safe for hooning?
Discussion
I'm looking to get a set of new wheels for my car as the current ones are buckled and not in the best of states. The big issue with my car is that the wheel PCD is 4x98 and there's almost no wheel selection for that PCD whereas there are tonnes of wheels out there that are 4x100, now the only way to fit these seems to be with wobbly bolts but will they be safe for when the car is on track or on an autosolo where a lot of lateral forces are going to be applied on them?
All they do is adapt the taper so the bolt is slightly off centre in the hole. I've never heard of anyone having issues with them, and would have no problem running them. You just need to make sure the centre bore is correct/adapted as it becomes slightly more important. You should already be checking the torque before any sort of track day so it's no different with a wobble bolt.

If they're used properly I can't really see a reason they should cause issues. The bolts are there to provide a force to generate friction between the wheel and hub; the sheer load on them once they're tightened is pretty non-existent. As above, the really key thing is that the centre bore of the wheel is correct for the hub so the wheel is aligned exactly correctly when the bolts are tightened.
