Any income Tax lawyers who can advise
Discussion
Appreciate some advise on An Agency withholding Tax deducted from salary . Then not paying the local tax authorities , with the excuse they don't know who to pay ??
This is for Iraq
Apparently locals don't pay income tax so its a bit grey , The Agency must deduct tax at 15% and are liable to pay it . However it looks talking with colleagues who have been on contract for 3 years , this has never been paid !
Pay slips clearly show tax deductions , They say this Will suffice for HMRC is this the case ?
Do you not need proof of payment ?
What are legal implications can they be forced to pay this money ,Another concern would be what happens if this Agency become insolvent , before Tax is paid
cheers

I would think HMRC need to see evidence of payment to the local authorities...... & it's Iraq the local authorities have probably got better things to do than pursue expats for income tax!!
is it anything to do with HMRC if you work and are paid abroad? not their jurisdiction?superlightr said:
