Hi all, does anyone know whether the screw on ends of wedge gas struts are still available? My boot struts are fine but I need 4 ends replaced. The ball diameter is 10mm. I don't want to replace the whole strut if possible as all of the new ones I've found have way too much pressure for use on my wedge.

Thanks

p.s. what's supposed to clip onto the metal ring??

As I never throw anything away I may have some ends you can have off the old struts.

My boot struts each have male quick disconnects at each end. These are used to power the third brake light.

Not sure if that is typical.

Left over from the fittings for heated rear screen on the doner car (Capri / SD1 ) tail gates some where connected to a wire mesh mat on the bonnet inner cover to supposedly reduce RFi for the radio!!

There were a couple of threads in struts. Someone said the power connectors on the front struts powered an engine bay light or an RF suppressor mesh??? Or maybe they just grabbed 4 struts out of the same parts bin. The original brand/model was "Elektrolifts" however the current ones are connective.

There is a company in the UK who will make replacement struts to the correct length / strength called SGS just outside Derby i think.

Not to sure what the postage cost to Aussie will be.

They may just sell you the end if you need them.

In the US regular car parts stores carry replacement struts. Not stocked as TVR parts naturally but 'match-able' by length and resistance. They don't have the electrical fitting but I just unscrewed the end fittings and moved them over.

If Adam doesn't find any then I can pop these into the post for you. I was only thinking at the weekend that I need to throw the old struts in the bin.

Hi mate...If the struts are no good any more for the bonnet then they may be okay for the boot...Unless they are completely nadgered...

They were knackered too so I replaced all four at the same time.
