We've only had the XKR a couple of weeks and some complete g!t has already taken it upon themselves to key it (supermarket car park). It's not a particularly long scratch and it's not too deep, but trying to take a positive out of the situation I thought it would be a good opportunity to sort out a few of the stone chips in the bonnet etc. and have the whole car 'treated'.
I have seen a rave review on the BMW forum for miracledetail.co.uk, but was wondering if anyone on the Jag forum has used either these or anyone else for similar work?

Sorry to hear that. I hate going to the shops in mine, the carpark at work also leaves me in cold sweats everytime I leave it. As for a respray, it is a difficult decesion on who to choose.
Only go with someone who is recommended. The paint match is the greatest difficulty.

Thanks for the sympathy. I'm hoping to avoid an actual respray, and go more for a paint reconditioning. Avoids the paint mismatch issue (and should hopefully be a fair amount cheaper).
It's just frustrating that you have to plan your journey's / parking according to small minded idiots who are intent on spoiling what's not theirs. I could have understood it if it were from a door banging into it; it's the malicious nature of it that really get's to me.

I've got a nasty gouge just behind the passenger door. Was there before I bought the car, the Dealer got the local 'Chips-away' to come over a touch it up. They have done a fine job. Couldn't fill in such a deep scratch, but I don't even notice it anymore.
My main concern is trying to keep the swirl marks off my Anthracite!

Think I'll wait a couple of weeks until hopefully the gritting of roads is finished for the next few months and will give this guy a call. Even if he can't completely sort out the scratch I'm sure he can improve things. Like you say, I'll soon get used to it, and once I'm sitting at the wheel with that huge grin on my face, I can't see it anyway!!
