Wall Uplighter - distance from ceiling ?

Considering some new uplighters before new plaster on wall.

Is there a recommended mounting distance from the ceiling ?
(ceiling is 8ft tall)

How large is the uplighter and how much light do you want spread on the ceiling? The more light, the lower it needs to be....but ideally the upper edge of the uplighter is above eye line.

Trial and error with a cord on a plug over 6 feet from the floor?

^^^This is always the best way IMO - try different bulbs too
