Save me from myself - a classic what car

I sold a Healey 100 this year - running it with one kid was just about OK, but number two arrived and time vanished, so it got reverse gear.
The green light has been given to replace, but the caveat is, it has to have 4 seats (presumably even have seat belts for baby seats), also plenty of pace.
2 doors is fine, no rust
but 4 seats is now a must.
budget is 40kGBP.
Save me from buying a Porsche 993..

I was in the same boat as you earlier in the year with a similar budget, so here was my thought process:
The problem with kids is they grow so while the 911 option is very attractive it won't be long before they outgrow that and you're back looking for something slightly bigger. So ideally 4 good seats not just a 2+2 which discounts say something like the XJS.
On the basis you should always buy the best you can I looked at cars at the top end of the scale within budget rather than ones I could just about afford. So for instance discounted the Bristol on this basis.
Unless the car has been completely restored surely it's a fact of classic car ownership that rust is ever present. The Cerbera is a great choice but despite the body being fibreglass the chassis rusts and is properly expensive to replace.
My shortlist:
Audi Quattro 20v
BMW E46 M3 CS
BMW M635CSI
Ford Mustang
Jaguar XJC
Jaguar XJ series 1
Jaguar Mk2 3.4 or 3.8
Maserati 3200
