What ho, chaps.

What is the recommended size of Rawlbolt for attaching a gun safe (with 4 holes)to a stone wall? One must keep the Purdey well stowed doncha know?

Two things that will help answer that one. Firstly the size of the holes in the safe the other is sort of stone.

6 or 8mm and around 120mm long will be perfectly fine. I got some anchor bolts from ScrewFix.

I use these http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Screws+%26+Fixings...

They are simple to fit and fit flush to the rear face.

Drill hole, screw in (probably need a few thick washers too) job done.

My safe has 6 holes which I think is usual, plus I use wood screws into the floor.

Ta. The existing holes are big - 20mm. However, I'll be drilling new holes in the side wall. It's a Lake District building, in limestone.

I've always found threaded rod (cut to length after drilling the holes in the wall) and epoxy resin much less hassle.
