Hi All,
Altinator has packed up on my Mk2 Tuscan in the Lyon area southern France.
I need a DENSO Pat No., 00194109. 100amp.

There is a Land Rover dealer on the north side of Lyon but we are told they don't sell spares?

Any help gratefully received.

Definitely available from motor factors in France. A friend's Chimaera had its alternator toasted the late May bank Holiday near Evreux - a helpful local arranged a new alternator to local garage.

Issue might be swapping ribbed pulley onto new item (the 17mm[?] retaining nut is f-off tight). Maybe the L-R dealership can help with this. Usually the local "garagistes" are excellent and will sort you out for a "pour-boire".

Bit of research suggests the OE fit was a Magneti Marelli unit designed for Land Rover:



If you can't get one from the LR dealer, there appears to be a MM aftermarket network with these guys being closest to you:



You will probably have to swap the pulley over but from what I've pulled up on PH, all post-Serp RV8's and AJP's carried this spec of 100A unit. If yours is a Denso, that may have been an upgrade.

Hi All, thanks for all the replies.

The part number I quoted was wrong.
I have info coming on the Magneti Morelli and a correct Prestolite number.
The Prestolite is being delivered tomorrow.
Yes, correct regarding the different pulley so we are now chasing a new belt.

Thanks for all the feedback in such a short time.
I'll update tomorrow. Hopefully we will be on our way late afternoon with a not tooooo late arrival at our hotel south of Barcelona.

Previously when abroad, we found it easier to get a next day delivery from TVR parts to the hotel and stay a day extra

Yes, in a box under the airbox. A common upgrade is to swap it for a 125amp fuse.

Yes, checked that. It's, as said, 125amp and under the air box.
There's also one by the battery and another one in the passenger footwell??? All seem OK.
No output from the alternator.
We are hoping it arrives this afternoon and then a 700k drive to Barca. It may be a late night.

The alternator arrived at 2:00pm Thursday and we were on our way by 6:00pm.
Reached the hotel south of Barcelona at 2:00am Friday morning
Have to say, enjoyed some lovely food and local Beaujolais wine.

Yes, sorry, badly written. I meant before we were fixed up. The garage was in the Beaujolais region. Never enjoyed it in the past but with locals giving you some of their good stuff, it was delicious
