Sagaris Steering arms
Discussion
It will not help. You will have too much track rod, the wider track of the Sag needs longer track rods, the racks are the same but the upper and lower wishbones are longer so the track rod needs to be longer. You will not alter the pivot points.
Raise the rack, check geo and play with spacers. My MK1 has better manners than my Sag, sadly with less feed back so I have to push on with faith. I found camber and tyre pressure played a big part as well because this moves the effective contact patch of the front tyre in/out and controls a bit of side wall flex.

I’ve got my Tuscan off the ground at the moment having a full new interior and paint, so I’m thinking while it’s go no wheels on her, I might take the steering arms off and do a quick redesign of them.
My question is, I’ve seen somewhere that dropping the track rod by 35mm however is this correct?
Bit of a winter project, so I’m thinking redesign, quick stress analysis calcs then machine some up.
If I machine some up, might be worth me doing some multiples, plus it would reduce the cost of machining.
Interested in a set?

Would it be the same drop for an early Tuscan as well, or did they change it?
I’m sure I heard somewhere about it being a 35mm drop. Seems a huge difference from what you’re saying if yours was only 8mm.
I’m not saying that you’re wrong, I’m just wondering there’s such a huge difference. Maybe the rod ends??

This is a subject I'm keen to get involved in.

This suggests it's a 35mm height change. I guess this stacks up as the modification to raise the height of the steering rack by 10mm using spacers improves. but doesn't cure, bump steer.
What do you guys think ?

Early Tuscans with the narrow rack need more but can only be corrected over a shorter amount of travel due to the track rod length being too long for the wishbones.I’m sure I heard somewhere about it being a 35mm drop. Seems a huge difference from what you’re saying if yours was only 8mm.

It might be 35mm on a Sag but the wishbones are mounted higher on the chassis, with the rack in the same place, so the required drop at the TRE is greater. They are also further out to give the track increase but that doesn't affect the angles.
I measured the bump steer over the travel to get the required rack spacing.
If you have a look at the pictures in this thread you can see the different mounting points as the last car's chassis had both. The unused ones, lower and further in, are the non Sagaris locations.
