It's far fetched, probably outright impossible without £10k+ insurance, but has anyone here done it? I'd love to have a GF8 2000 Turbo ASAP, it'll be 1 year NCB, garaged, 5000 miles PY, Social and Commuting in an area with next to no crime, no house break-ins/car thefts anyway. I assume it will be impossible, but if I could do it, I will. When I buy one, unless I find a mint STI V5 Wagon, I won't sell it. Love to hear from you all anyway.

I got my WR1 at 22 and that was the first time I could afford to insure it, at around £800. Pretty sure when I was 19, insurance were quoting £5k.

I'd expect insurance to be a nightmare given your age, although I guess they aren't as stolen as much as the once were. If you decide to go ahead I might be selling my 96 2000 turbo wagon, but needs a bit of TLC.

Aren't you already paying a fortune for an ST170? I can't see an Impreza being cheap after a few years of driving. I did a quote on one a few years ago and it came out at like over 2k still. I might do another quote now and see what it is at 26. It just depends what you're willing to pay though, i suppose.

I had a Catalunya at 18. Cost £60 more to insure than I paid for it.

Its not just the cost of insurance that may be the limiting factor, its the feasibility of even getting cover. When I had my WRX PPP, a lot of insurers stipulated that you had to be 21/25 to even get cover (although perhaps if the price is right, its possible). This was a few years back now and the fact you can get 300bhp in a Golf may have changed this view of the insurers.

You need a specialist broker, not a all4one web market company.

If you have done your research, then the Scooby forums with be awash with people and advertisers recommending services.

Spend time, bash the lines and get through to people who know what you are talking about and want.
