tail pipes for mixer

Purchased Grohe mixer and the tail pipes that came with it have a smaller connector - see picture. The large connectors are from the old tap. Im in two minds now what to do. Either buy new tail pipes with push on fittings or connect these 2 together but will most likely have a kink in it as they are long.
