I need to fit a new throttle pot to my Griff. The existing one looks like this :-

I cannot find one with the same style of plug.

What is the solution to this ?? Has anyone swapped over their throttle pot and changes the plug fitting to suit ?

The 'original fittings' seem to be unavailable.

If you have swapped yours over to a new style of plug, did you have any problems setting it up ?

Thanks.....

Its going to take some effort to sort. Have a look at this thread. I dnded up buying a completer landrover intake assembly to get the pot.

I bought my Jenvey TPS which came with the wrong connector. I bought a compatible connector and made the switch. The main thing to be aware of when fitting is that at closed throttle position the 14CUX needs to see a few ohms resistance - this is needed so the ECU knows the TPS is alive and well. This was achieved on the originally fitted TPS by having the alignment of the TPS mounting holes such that it dialled in a small input on the TPS when st closed throttle position. On the newer replacements they have elongated mounting holes so you have to swivel the TPS a small amount so as to achieve a small TPS input at closed throttle. Best to use a meter but I can’t remember what resistance you need here. In any case I don’t think it needs to be a very precise value. Blitz racing might be along here soon to give you further input. One last point is you can buy at half the price that TVR spares are selling at............

Connector here:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lucas-Rists-3-Way-E-Ser...

Resistance wise the stock one is 5k ohms, with a closed resistance of 125 ohms. If you can get something with a sweep of 5k over 90' id think the worse case is you would have to pop a 120 ohm resistor inline with it to give you the required shut throttle value.

Thanks for that. As usual, great PH support and info.

If you are having problems with the resistance values over the complete sweep especially the closed throttle value, you can wire in a micro-switch to switch in a resistance of your choice when in the closed throttle position

As I understand it the original TPS fitted was the Jenvey TP1. These are no longer available and the replacement TP11 is the one that is now in the supply chain. Apparently these are more robust (dual wiper) with longer life cycle. I believe the underlying manufacturer of these is Variohm whose part number for this is VTP11. Spec sheet for this is at https://www.variohm.com/images/datasheets/VTP11_Th...
BTW this confirms 5K resistance and 112' sweep.
One thought is if you are to achieve full sweep range using the 90' throttle movement you might want to use up the first 10' or so when at closed throttle position (so as to achieve the initial closed throttle resistance) rather than inserting a serial fixed resistor.

Sounds like a perfect plan if you have the extra sweep.
