Is it me, or has the forum gone completely to the dogs? Random newbies spouting total rubbish, pissing off other members, and an absence of control from Mr P. What a shame.

Yes I have noticed that there has been an influx of new blood, and they look like they are speed posting to boot.

What I fail to understand is the site owner’s abdication from controlling things, but for matters of profanity. Newbies must laugh at the opportunities presented in the absence of any proper management. The place is going to st, yet Mr P fiddles.

I watch the forum (see what I did there) and it appears to me that some of the newbies are previous members with gripes to grind. It's entertaining though.

He deploys a few blunt instruments like short term bans and global ignores, but fails to grab the nettle and deal with the endemic sts.

I was banned for "suspected selling" or something-I posted in a "want to buy" thread in the "want to buy" section!

Of course I was trying to sell!

Mindful of the warnings about newbies speed-posting I decided to wait and only post when I thought I had something relevant to contribute. And had my account booted for being dormant.

The guy in charge seems to be ex military, from when that is supposed to have meant something, and runs the forum like a boot camp without de facto rules. Shame. It could be such a great forum if managed properly as opposed to in absentium.

Makes a nice change from the endless Rolex threads and the "I'd totally buy it if it were 33mm" brigade.

remembering how it was a few years ago to how it is now I keep thinking the owner is about to pull the plug or is about to sell it.

Agree with above, he does not seem to be arsed anymore.

^^^I seem to recall there was an abortive sale 12-18 months ago. The forum, in the current state of tune, does seem to have runs it’s course.

The whole inane, uncontrolled culture, which is now Rolex centric and a magnet for newbie trolls.

It's way, way beter than TRF though. Wading through: 'what Rolex should I buy?', 'what's the best investment?', 'Can I shower with my Deep Sea on?', 'My AD says.....blah, blah, crap'... That place fking kills me!

Sorry, but those sound like typical TZ threads. Plus, courtesy of Peedog, does my wife's fanny look good in this st Tissot. Really? Eddie, get a grip. The place is going to st.

Though there are some very knowledgable people on The Rolex Forums, a sizeable number of others seem to have the attention span of a goldfish stricken with Alzheimer's.

Case in point - thread where a guy loses his watch and then updates after later finding it, but morons too arrogant to bother reading beyond the title kept wishing him luck in his search for days after.

Then there is the gauche boasting about material wealth, flawed opinions stated as certain fact and certain posters who think they run the place.

Does my nut.
