The theme for the March competition is:

Holidays

Let's see those favourite shots from your holidays, epitomising what it's like at that place, be it a rainy day at Clacton, a blizzard on the pistes or a scorcher in the Maldives. cool

Rules:

The photos taken must be your own work and can be taken at anytime, but please get out with your gear if you have time.
The competition will run from the first to the last day of the month.
The winner from the previous month decides on the topic for the following month and judges it at the end of the month.
Entries and discussion on this single thread, please.
All entrants acknowledge that they may indeed win and that their adherence to convention ensures everyone else's continued fun.
Photos entered can be as large as you like (unless the mods step in). PH doesn't seem to squash pictures like it used to and it's not like we have hundreds of entries.

I have lots of good holiday photos taken with fancy cameras of classic locations, but your topic steered me away from all the 'postcard photos' to this one - a road trip around Scotland, this shot taken on Skye with a small handheld (as you can see!).

Growing up on the West Coast of Scotland with a Dad from the East neuk of Fife ment this bridge was a huge part of my Holidaying life when I was an ankle snapper. Still seeing it to this day reminds me of the fun we had and adventures ahead.

Just back from Havana, wonderful timewarp city - took this wind in my hair image out the back of our '59 Cadillac looking at another '59 tailing us!

This one was taken when I was doing Route 66 for my honeymoon last year. We spent the day at the Grand Canyon, and no photo at all does the place justice. You're a mile high, and the place is just vast. But the wildlife struck me,how they were able to survive in such a place while being so close to humans (if that even makes sense?).

Black Crows of the Grand Canyon by Michael Burke, on Flickr

Shot on a BeLOMO Vilia 35mm camera with Foma Retropan 320 film, developed with Foma Retro Special Developer and scanned with an Epson V550.

Nice film, but not a film for use for landscape/wildlife photography, it's more of a portrait film. Didn't know at the time as I just bought 6 rolls to see what they were like!

I took this in Weymouth, Dorset when we was heading back to the holiday park from the beach. There was a couple of fields to cut through and there was a nice light as the sun was going down.

Visited London for my birthday. One of the highlights was having a champagne breakfast on the 40th floor.

I guess everyone has their own idea of where they like to go and what they like to do on holiday. I took this while cycling the length of Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi on a 26 year old bike with almost no luggage.

Introducing my boy to the joys of the arcade at Great Yarmouth last year.

He worked out to play it really quickly and loved it so much, we're going back this year....
