Are they any good, looking for something to store a car transporter (4.5m x 2.2m) rather than leave it out in the open but will it just increase the risk of corrosion retaining the moisture underneath rather than drying off again in the wind. (Have stored timber stuff under a tarpaulin which just rotted, the ground being damp underneath after rain).

Thanks

If the floor is a sealed surface rather than soil/grass, I wouldn't have thought damp would be a problem. You could improve your chances by ensuring there is a little ventilation. It will still tend to get condensation when the air heats up, but the ventilation should allow that to clear.

If I may, skydiver, if you store a trailer for a long time, check the brakes before use!
I didn't, and found almost no braking, on a long continental trip!

This was because out of use, the brake shoes had got damp and rusted off the shoes! Only two of eight (two axle trailer) were against the drums, the rest loose in the drum or just chewed up bits. I'm sure you service your trailer carefully - so did I but missed this!

Thanks for the heads up.
It stood outside for 6 months killing the grass underneath it. For the last 6 months or more it's stood in the garage with a car on it.
Can't decide whether to get it outside but under some sort of cover or get a 4 post lift and store it on that. Could use the lift for other things but it'll get in the way a bit when I d anything on the car below.

I have one of those Clarke pop up garages, it's stood for a few years now. It can get a little damp but we live in a very damp area next to a stream.

The only issue I have had with it, are the zips on the door failing after a couple of years just out of warranty! But you can get replacement panels which are inexpensive.

I had one for about 4 years and found it pretty handy, although had the same problem with failing zips, then about a year ago after a night of gusting winds my wife asked me whether I knew what the grey thing was stuck in the trees at the far end of the field - yes it was indeed my Clarke temporary garage!! the frame was bent out of all recognition and a roll cage I had tied to one of the uprights had accompanied it all across the field - must have been a big gust. However before its demise it served us well and was pretty watertight.....
