I won't be getting it, but have enjoyed looking at the images. fastgerman said:

Something in the depths of my memory is quivering trying to remember this one being on PH years and years ago as some sort of garage / barn find or reposession sort of bravery. Nonetheless, this is my perfect car. Having run an immaculate low miles Porsche for a couple of years a while back, I just couldn't take the stress of driving and more specifically parking it day to day. Every little dink or scratch was painful, and it really spoilt the experience. Something that's a bit bashed about but still fundamentally in decent nick underneath is just the ticket.
edit: though, having said that, the advisories on the last MOT will keep the new owner busy for a while.

I wonder if you were thinking of this one…

It was the one I bought and ran for about 6 (nearly trouble free) years. It’s definitely not the same as the CC one but very, very similar looking. Incidentally I see the CC one didn’t sell.

That is exactly the one I was thinking of, yes. Good to see it worked out in the end.https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-spottedykywt/y...

2nd MOT passed in my ownership with no advisories
And then.....
revs start hunting and left bank of engine shuts down :-(
Martin at Rardleys is fault finding and hoping it's just a sensor somewhere fingers crossed

Worth following Verde_Ferrari456 for a similar experience - early doors after purchasing through Collecting Cars (the nice green manual I posted above)

Mine had a temperature sensor go on one side. The main symptom was black smoke on acceleration, plus alarming fuel consumption. The latter nearly caught me out because the fuel gauge wasn't working at the time. It is now - it fixed itself!
Oxygen sensor also
Year 2 service and mot cost £2.5k. Just various ‘bits’ this year incl. wing mirror glass, window adjustment, various sensors/switches, custom hifi mount for new Sony Bluetooth head unit, window wipers fixed/adjusted, header tank mount.
Hope to keep using the 456 twice a week as long as there is no salt on the roads.

So, in the grand scheme of things, a fairly minor issue but wanting to attempt to fix this myself, this is the issue:
I cannot lock the car fully using the keyfob. There is a motor spinning noise if I lock the car using the key in the door and it will lock. If I lock the car with the keyfob, the passenger side locks but the drivers side does not. If I open the door the alarm goes off - so it thinks it’s locked.
I can lock the car manually using the key in the door or from inside by pushing the locking leaver down (central locking works in both scenarios).
Any advice?
Ps Gratuitous pic at Rardley having had several sensors replaced:

Just to add, I can lock the car with the key but I cannot unlock the car with the key… motor whirring noise when attempting to.
Anyway, nice drive today:
List of bits changed to cure the spluttering V12 - camshaft phase sensor, air mass meter, 4 x fuel injection/fuel pump relays, left hand oxygen sensor.
Just the bl00dy locks now…

I had this on my Monaro, the door lock motor itself was on the way out. The car would let you know there was a locking issue by 5 short rapid beeps of the horn. I could lock it manually with the key or pushing the button down as you have described but it wouldn't have enough juice to do it electronically. A common issue on those cars as I found out, something to do with the solenoid in the mechanism. Bought a new unit and swapped it out, lots of swearing on the first one trying to get my oversized hands into the door. Second time around was much easier knowing what to do!I cannot lock the car fully using the keyfob. There is a motor spinning noise if I lock the car using the key in the door and it will lock. Completely different car of course but seems a very similar scenario.
