Earlier WBAC offers on my 718:

Back in April 2020 - £39K (when 7 month old, and in Lockdown 1.0). Wasn't looking to sell then, but purely out of interest.
10/12/2020 - £41.3K
20/12/2020 - £42.0K
29/12/2020 - £42.0K
02/1/2021 - £43.3K
15/1/2021 - £43.2K ... Sold (£43.1K inc fees etc)

As others have commented above, I have no idea how WBAC (or a buying dealer) will make a profit on this car. A non-OPC benefits from the fact there is no warranty cost (it has 21 months new car warranty to run), but an OPC potentially has to make this up to 24 months. Also tthe next buyer is facing 1st service in October (which looks to be £800 at an OPC, based on a recent 718 thread).
If you're willing to share the reg I'll happily track it when it goes through BCA (who own WBAC incidentally!)

Pretty much used to always buy my cars through BCA. The one in Surrey is a good one. You get the stock-broker belt cars coming with all the mod-cons on. The one in Bedford is good too, good cars from Hertfordshire & Buckinghamshire. I only went to an OPC because of the 2 years used warranty; horror-stories of IMS/RMS, bore-scoring, porous Lokasil cylinder liners put the frighteners on me.

718 4 pot doesn't sound bad, it just sounds like a 4 pot. You don't get the exotic sound of the 6 pot. As far as options go on my 987 19 inch wheels, sports plus seats, PASM, PDK, Sport/Sport+ button and PSE are my ideal set-up. I added the PSE £2K, Sport/Sport+ modes £1K, painted wheels satin platinum £800 & DSC V1 £1K to the mix. I would have paid extra for those toys on top of the 19.5K for the 09 Boxster 49K miles I paid OPC with the 2 year warranty. Without the PSE and Sport/Sport + button just didn't feel like a sports car...

WBAC valued my 997.1GT3 at £19k before I sold it on CC!

Thread proves once again that despite what dealers and some owners say, there's no point spending money on expensive options if you don't need them.

As for WBAC what they care about is their overall profit, not the specific profit on each car. There are bound to be winners and losers, due not least to the auction sales process.

I was once bought a car from them online with delivery to me. I'll login and see on 28th what the bidding is...

Indeed, what an incredible deal you got - and probably somebody at WBAC has lost their job due to a broken algorithm.....

CAP clean £38.8k

The car sold for £41.4k + fees. I would guess that makes it about £42.5k for the trader but I've never been able to work out the BCA fee structure?

It was a provisional sale and the reserve was not met.

Either way, well done getting that money from WBAC - good win!

Then it may well have not sold at all if it went provisional. My guess is it will be in again next week.

This looks to now be on Autotrader with ‘Acorn Motor Group’ for...£48,990. They’ve got 3 other 718s in too.

Isn’t that more than it was new?

I'd have to check the original purchase invoice, but I think it is indeed more than I paid for it new (and that included the 1st year VED which was circa £1K!)

This used car does not include road tax, so removing for comparative purposes the 1st year VED and registration fee (£910 combined) from the OPC invoice ... I'm left with £48,473.

Car prices are just ridiculous high at present . Don’t know who is willing to pay more than list after 18 months?
