I'll start the thread as Covboy has just tacked the title on to the end of last months. Don't forget to come back and judge CB.

Rules:

The photos taken must be your own work and can be taken at anytime, but please do get out with your gear if you have safe opportunity etc.

The competition will run from the first to the last day of the month.

You can only submit one, and only one photo.

The winner from the previous month decides on the topic for the following month and judges it at the end of the month.

Entries and discussion on this single thread please.

All entrants acknowledge that they may indeed win and that their adherence to convention ensures everyone else's continued fun.

Photos entered can be as large as you like, although bear in mind if too large, it may not be possible to see the whole image on some screens. Links to larger versions are permissible.

Taken two weeks ago in London, I live in Wiltshire so not many opportunities to see heavy industry (past or present) It's borderline on the subject title!

An old one from me, historic rail stock mainly used to carrying coal and iron ore with a bit of added burning steel and light painting. All created in one capture with nothing added or taken away in post.

Looking at Jebel Ali port with the undeveloped palm island behind as the sun sets. Taken from about 10km away on a rare non-hazy evening.

Beautiful colours on that. I took a rather more dreary one from the same viewpoint a few years back before they started working on it. (Not an entry BTW).

Thanks but entered this one before in a previous monthly competition. I'll put this one in.

Thanks to everyone who submitted photos for the competition. My final decision is

Honorable mentions to La Sourcefor spotting a clever framing opportunitty

ch37 for a cleverly executed long exposure showing plenty of movement

Winner for me was RedThree with a photo showing a very unusual viewpoint with everything leading into the action of the photograph

Thank you covboy for the kind mention.
It was something I came across whilst on holiday in Portugal....something about it needed capturing.
