Hi Folks,

I know its not a watch, but this seemed like the best place.

I have been gifted a set of rather unique 1 of 1 diamond skull ear-rings with the proceeds to go to local charities.

To do the charities proud I would like to raise a fair valuation/sale to benefit the local community as much as possible.

They are not worth MEGA money, I think between 1-2K, but can anyone recommend a good method of fair valuation and sale of these?

Thanks

Kieran

Isn't most Jewellery worth scrap value. I suspect you are going to be really, really disappointed at what they are worth.

When selling my ex wife's diamond solitaire diamond ring I was offered between 10% and 15% of the purchase price 2nd hand.

So good luck!

Sounds about right to me. I was in Hatton Garden last year looking at jewellery and spotted quite a few guys in their 30s/early 40s with their Instagram wannabe younger girlfriends looking at diamonds for rings.

The men tried to make out they knew what they were looking at, but when a diamond is put in front of you and you are told it is £20K and your girlfriend who is out of your league looks wise is all excited what are you going to do?

I suspect some of these men were utterly taken to the cleaners because the sales person knew they were not getting sex if they didn't buy it.

It's a reasonably simple algorithm multiplying the four K's of the stone by the market price to give a value then it's scrap on the precious metal. I ran pawnbrokers across the UK and Ireland for a while and the difference between Retail, Insurance Valuation and Resale values were wild as intimated above.
