I’m installing air suspension on the rear of my camper, (assistance)
It has a maximum pressure of 7bar, in normal use its 2-4 bar.
A couple of joints are leaking, I’ve tried ptfe tape but it’s not sealing them.
Any thing else worth trying?

Are you putting the PTFE on the right place? A lot of fittings use the threads only to hold the thing together and not for actually sealing, so tape on the threads will do nothing except make it harder to tighten.

A picture of the fittings disconnected would help identify what type it is.

It's leaking where the gauges screw into the box, I think it's poor paint finish causing it.
I don't want to clean the paint off only to find it doesn't solve the problem and I need to return it.

Use flat ptfe tape wrapped around all the threads on the male threaded part.
Common fault is not using enough wraps.

I use it on all the threaded joints on my compressors, airtools & sprayguns.
The sprayguns are fitted with gauges at their inlets to control pressure at the gun so the pressure in the airlines & moisture separator and their fittings is up to 150psi which is the compressor cut off. That's around 10 bar.
Never had an issue - apart from when I've skimped on the tape.

7 bar is only 100psi & there is no reason why clean threads in good condition won't seal with it.

That looks like a parallel thread. PTFE is generally for use on taper threads. You need a correctly sized Dowty seal.

^^^^Wot 'e said.

PTFE only works on tapered threads as it is pushed into the "V" of the threads by the expanding male thread-form.

You need to remove them to check but as they screw in as far as they do in that pic I would also say they are parallel threads & you need a Dowty (also called bonded) seal of the correct size.

Item has been replaced by the supplier and is now holding pressure.
