Someone crashed into my house and my car!
Discussion
Two young Albanian lads launched their car off a speed bump crashing into my car (parked in front of the house) and then my garden wall. They did a runner with the bags of white powder they had in the glove box. They weren't wearing seat belts, so looked pretty sorry for themselves.
Left their wallet and asylum seeker ID in the vehicle (and a sample of the product), it shows up as insured but probably a rental?
My car is a 2006 E92 330i with only 63k miles, if anyone has any advice or adverts they can share to get a fair claim value.

B*gger, that's terrible.
Given your description of the miscreant scumbags I think you might as well claim on your own Motor and Household policies and let them try to get their money back if they can.
Expect your car to be considered beyond economical repair with that much damage and try to find adverts for anything similar to support your valuation. I struggled with my E90 330i because it was an SE and all the adverts were for M-Sports.
I hope you get a decent outcome anyway.

well thats just charming isnt it
thats definitely an insurance write off if you claim it for sure, but unfortunately really doesn't look repairable yourself. my 2006 330d was written off a couple of years ago, think the settlement value was barely £3000 before excess.
feel for you, just pure bad luck and you just have to suck it up.

I'd echo, yep, utter scumbags. I'd also assume that is sadly written off. Trawl Autotrader/PH classifieds/Ebay for the nearest ilk car for sale to yours (mileage, age, spec year etc) and If the settlement offer is lower present this to them and ask 'this is the cheapest like for like I can find, can you find cheaper?'
Years ago when I wrote off a Mondeo MK3 this is what MoreThan and I did, and I got the settlement value needed, minus the excess.
Also I'd imagine that the ID you've found, along with the cars ID will be enough for your insurer to pursue them, to ensure this at least gets recorded as non-fault.

What utter vermin!! Bad enough that they're clearly dealing drugs but clearly driving dangerously and impacting us regular folk. Not wearing seatbelts would have left a bit of a mark on them I'd imagine but I doubt it'll change their behaviour. Thankfully no pedestrians involved.
If the car is insured then hopefully your insurance can claim off them. Let's hope they're able to find them!

That trail of fluid leading to the crash site suggests a proper launch but poor landing off the speed bump.
Yeah, looking at the marks on the road they got a good 15-20ft of air and took out the sump before the collision. This is a 20mph residential street and I live directly opposite a primary school.
We were just putting our shoes on to head out for dinner when the crash happened. A minute or two earlier and it could have been quite different.

Yes that’s quite a sobering thought. Had you been standing between them and your car……Claim on the insurance that covers their car and it will cover the cost of rebuilding the car too. As you say could have been far worse

Not wearing seatbelts was probably the best bit of news, a souvenir they left behind being the second best - fingers crossed dibble didn't confiscate it.Left their wallet and asylum seeker ID in the vehicle (and a sample of the product)
My sympathies OP, absolutely st situation to be in, innocent bystander suffering the consequences of some mouth breathing waste of sperm's actions.
Fingers crossed the scumbags got hit by a lorry or something whilst fleeing the scene of the crime(s).

Heres hoping they pitch up at A and E due to their injuries and plod gets hold of them, or whoever they were trying to get away from.
Guessing this may affect their Asylum claim...
Haven't laughed so hard all week, thanks Guessing this may affect their Asylum claim...
I had a car written off earlier in the year, the valuers are recognising that the trade guides are hideously out of date so you may have more traction with market values than otherwise.
