Blinking Mileage and Clock - Fiat Panda 09
Discussion
Good afternoon
It's been a few weeks now my car's odometer and clock is blinking. I just removed the -ve terminal from the battery for a minute and then connected it back but it's still not fixed.
Also I had installed a digital stereo (bought from eBay), which was working fine but since this blinking has started, it has completely gone now.
I have disconnected both the -ve terminal from battery and removed the stereo but still not fixed.
Can anyone please help.
Thanks in advance

Sounds like the new stereo has caused the fault. It's been a few weeks now my car's odometer and clock is blinking. I just removed the -ve terminal from the battery for a minute and then connected it back but it's still not fixed.

Put a code reader on and see if it finds anything.
Is it showing any actual data, or just blinking a fixed pattern?
If you aren't seeing any data, it could be trying to tell you it's disconnected. I don't know what sort of data link is used on that car, but canbus is pretty common - perhaps you jostled the wiring harness while you were fitting the stereo and a connector got dislodged somewhere.

The blinking milage means the CAN BUS can't see something it thinks it should see. It's the same on all FIATs & Alfa Romeos.
You will get it if you disconnect something like the Blue & Me module and put the ignition back on. Once you restore the missing component, the flashing will stop.
If you are replacing something, like a factory stereo/nav, that interacts with the rest of the car, you need to do a PROXI alignment with something like Multi ECU Scan. That rescans the CAN BUS and tells you what it sees/doesn't see so it can rectify it.
I've had to do it on a couple of Alfa Romeos when I have changed the factory stereo/blue&me for aftermarket.
It doesn't stop anything working, just letting you know something doesn't match on the CAN BUS.
