Yikes indeed, burning cars get bloody hot too, I've driven by a burning car when it's been on the opposite carriageway about 6 lanes and a central reservation away and it felt bloody hot from that distance.

Those people helping were something else.

Wow. What a great bunch of people. That was pretty amazing.

When that small explosion happened under the car at 1:20 I bet they all crapped themselves, but they all went back!

Tyre blowing I'd guess?

I was near a scooter that caught fire a while ago and it melted the plastic on another one over a meter away, so that must have been bloody hot.

Interesting the guy trying to break the window several times with a lump of debris and doing no damage, but the highway worker smashes it in one tap, amazing the difference the right tool for the job makes.

Wow. Fantastic from those people. As above, these are all genuine heroes. Faith in humanity temporarily restored.

Excellent work. Refreshing change from people pulling out their mobile to record it instead of helping.

Yes, it's made me think it will be a good idea to carry one of those screen breaking things in my car.

The metal ends of the headrest lets are supposedly ok for this, but obviously I've never tried it, but a proper tool's going to be better. I've seen police shows using a spring loaded center punch to do it, and they hit it in the corner the same as the worked did on that clip so I'm guessing tat's the best place to hit it.

I bought several of the tools for seatbelt cutting and glass breaking and I have them on my key rings with my car keys. Seeing this I’m glad I have them. Just place the spring loaded glass punch in the corner of a side window and push down. Apparently won’t work on a windscreen though.

Indeed, genuine heroes those guys as it was very dangerous and they put their lives at risk. They didn't give up either, particularly hammer guy!

I remember when I was at school a teacher's son was killed running toward a burning car after an accident, which exploded.

I've heard that the metal tip of a spark plug will break a window, maybe worth keeping an old one in the car in the absence of a proper tool. It makes sense to hit the glass at a corner, as it will be better supported and flex less.

If they pulled on the top of the door frame the glass would have shattered.

I'm surprised how much flex that guard rail had, I thought they would be pretty solid but the rescuers pulling on the doors made it move a fair bit.

Fair play to all involved, brave group of people!

I think it had been pulled apart from the impact.

Windscreens are laminated (even shattered it'shard to break through as it all stays together). Side glass is typically toughened and so crumbles into small pieces.
