Buyers queuing for the Toniq-R
Kit car invited back to spiritual home
Toniq has sold its first batch of cars at the Stoneleigh kit car show.
"It was good to see such a strong support from many of you at the show and to put some faces to the people we have been emailing", said director Will Baxter.
On the Stuart Taylor Motorsport stand was a 2005 dark blue Toniq-R production runner. It included the latest modifications such as green-glowing digital dials showing speed, temperature and revs. The lights, indicators, seat harnesses, fan, horn and petrol tank were all fitted, wired and working.
Baxter said, "We’re happy to tell you that we took some orders for the car and that the first customers will be receiving their kits in the next couple of months."

Toniq also said that the director and the car have been asked to return to its birthplace. The University of Huddersfield will show the Toniq-R at the opening event of its Transport Design Graduates end of year show.
The Toniq-R will be at Queensgate campus, the heart of the University, on Friday 10 June from 1pm-8pm.
Baxter said, "There will also be 20 student-designed 1:5 scale concept cars at the show so, if you or your children are aspiring car designers, it's an event not to be missed. You'll be able to mingle with this year's crop of students, some of the automotive press and you may even spot a one of legendary car designer that have been known to turn up to these shows from one of the big boys -- Ford, Jaguar, Lotus and so on.
"If you can't make the Friday opening you can pop along any time to see the students' work between Monday 13-Friday 17 June, but best to phone in advance: 01484 422 288. However the Toniq-R, designers and press will only be there on 10 June."
