The listing shouldn't show this as a manual, surely ...
Thank you. That would be an interesting prospect although you are quite right and this has now been corrected. Auto suits the Alpina’s character better of course!listing description said:

Adding the service history in an easy to digest format. This is just the history in the service booklet. I have lots more…

This is that chap who rebuilt the supercharger and bench tested it afterwards. He’s the best in the business and has completed over 70 rebuilds. I had the full rebuild plus billet compressor wheel completed…

I would love to keep it but we have 4 cars and as I’m doing more miles I’ve purchased my first diesel (Merc CLS) so moving with the times 🤣. I also have a TVR Cerbera as a fun car and haven’t been using the B5 S nearly enough so it’s time it went to someone else. It took the family all round France one year and all round Europe another year (to Italy) so great memories and I do love it. If I had more money and space I’d keep it and I know I’ll miss it badly to be honest.
I’ll have a look tonight at any documentation on gearbox as I recall a diff or transmission fluid service but can confirm when I get home. Happy to report that all shifts smoothly. I recall that the transmission fluid still looked red and hadn’t changed to a darker colour. It’s the open diff with cooling fins which should be understood in the context of Alpina’s traditional road-car philosophy: these cars were developed as refined, high-speed GTs rather than track-focussed M cars. For normal road use, particularly in mixed weather, the open differential gives a very progressive and benign character. Of course should one be interested a LSD may be fitted although its absence is not out of keeping with the Alpina brief if that makes sense. You can leave a nice “1”, rather than “11” on the road in the dry should you turn the traction control off. This means one rear tyre retains grip whilst the other spins. I saw Andreas Bovensiepen talk about this on a video interview somewhere but can’t lay it to hand.
No diffuser on this one as per photos, just the Alpina rear bumper and spoiler.
